"CHRIST VICTORIOUS FOUND WITHIN THE ARTS"

The Autobiography of You

The Autobiography of you: Everything is happening perfectly as it should be:

The Lord keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever. Psa 121:8

There once was a great king whose name was Adnaw. Now King Adnaw had a very close friend and advisor that he treasured above all the other soothsayer’s in his kingdom. That advisors name was Semaj.

One day the king was having his fingernails clipped by his royal manicurist. Well as fate would have it, the manicurist accidentally cut the kings finger pretty badly. One of the kings servants who witnessed this ran to Semaj and told him what had happened to their great king. Semaj just simply said, “Go tell the king that everything is happening perfectly as it should be.”

So the servant ran back to the king and told him what Semaj had said. King Adnaw, still in severe pain from his wounded finger, got very upset upon hearing this news. So the king ordered that Semaj be put in the royal dungeon for his seemingly lack of compassion towards his great king.

The king decided he needed to work out some of his anger and frustration by going on a hunting party out into the wilderness of his vast kingdom. During the hunt the king was separated from his compatriots and soon found himself lost. As he was trying to find his way back home, he was captured by a wild nomadic tribe that had little respect for any kings authority, including Adnaw’s.

As fate would have it, it was on this day that the tribe was preparing to make a human sacrifice to the god of the volcano. What a great sacrifice this would be to appease their god, a human king. So as they were preparing King Adnaw as their human offering, they noticed the terrible gash on the kings finger. It was considered a great insult and bad luck to offer the gods a damaged sacrifice. So they released the king from their presence.

As the king made his way through the wilderness to find his way back home, he remembered Semaj’s words, “everything is happening perfectly as it should be.” Even though King Adnaw was very troubled by his near death experience, he was exceedingly grateful that his life had been spared. He also had an overwhelming sense of guilt over what he had done to Semaj. Out of anger, he had thrown his closest friend and advisor into his dungeon.

When the King Adnaw found his way back home he straight away ran to the dungeon to beg forgiveness of his friend and to immediately released Semaj from his chains. The king lamented greatly for his rash decision concerning Semaj and told his beloved advisor he would always listen to him from this point foreword.

“While I’m thinking about all these things“, the king said to Semaj, “it may have been the perfect thing for me to have been cut on my finger but why was it the perfect thing for you to be thrown into this terrible dungeon?”

“Well your majesty, Semaj said, if I wasn’t placed in your dungeon I would most likely have been in that hunting party with you. And as you can see, I have no cuts on my fingers.”

Always remember, everything is happening perfectly as it should be in Christ Jesus.
